But they scoffed and say, "YOU LIE, YOU LIE!"
Well tonight they greedily sucked down their bottle and looked for more. Today they will be major "BGs" "bummed goats"!
![]() Last night was a milestone, the bucklings got their last bottle. We have been slowly weaning them. We have told them to enjoy it because it was coming to an end. But they scoffed and say, "YOU LIE, YOU LIE!" Well tonight they greedily sucked down their bottle and looked for more. Today they will be major "BGs" "bummed goats"!

![]() Michelle is quite the tech. Two of the goats were off their feed today so she ran a fecal exam to see their worm load. She was able to get a count and also identify what type of worms we had to deal with. Based on the count, the goats needed to be wormed tonight. ......But a word of advise, if you stop by and see a baggie in the refrigerator with a glove inside. DO NOT open it, it is one of her samples! ![]() It is barn mucking time on the farm. The time when we clean the barn of spent hay and manure. The feeders do not move so when it goes to the bottom of them it is time to clean. We use what is called the deep litter method, which is basically we let the manure build up and this provides a warm floor for the goats through the winter. You see as the manure breaks down it gives off heat. During the deepest cold of winter the floor is warm for the goats. So we do not let the manure pile up to see really how high it can go.....it truly serves a purpose. (But because of the all the rain we got to it a lot later than usual) |
