They’re kinda like the Wicked Witch of the West
……I'm melting….
except it happens with one single drop of rain, the biggest babies I have ever seen. Of course, I am speaking of the does (sorry ladies), the bucks at least will tolerate a light drizzle before retreating.
But I have wandered off my story…..
Anyway, working on the farm can be rough, and the rain makes it even more difficult. Because after a rain you have MUD. We have 6 seasons here in Preston County. Spring, MUD, Summer, Fall, MUD, Winter. This year Spring was in March, interrupted by Winter in late March followed by MUD. We were seeing the light at the end of the tunnel in late April and a return to Spring, just in time for MUD to come back.
Between all the rain there are beautiful sights on the farm, like the picture above. That was taken after an all-day annoying rain. It just reminds me that there will always be a little rain in everyone’s life, but the beauty after the rain is well worth it!
