![]() Recently I needed to do some work with the tractor after dark. I finished up with the work and headed back up to the barn. As I get near the pond there were two eyes looking at me. I get closer, saw it is one of our bull frogs from the pond. He had come out to enjoy the cool night air. The problem was that he was in direct path of the tractor. So I had come to a complete stop and dismount from the tractor and walked over to him. He decided that I was much more scary then the three ton tractor that would have flattened him, so he hopped back into the pond. The moral of this story is always watch out for toads or frogs in the road.

![]() Alice, one of our ducks likes to fly. But there is one small problem. Her wings are clipped on one side. So controlled flight is a problem. But there is also another problem. It is easy to get on top of the chicken coop but it is a whole different case getting back down the way you got up there! So here she sits, she got up there in the early morning before we went to work. There she was when we got home. So I go up to help her out of her predicament. As I get close she looks at me and seems to say "I got this" and opens her wings and jumps off into the wild blue. Her flight was not very far and the landing was not pretty, but any landing you can walk away from is a good one! |
