Ah, it is Spring Mud Season on the farm. The days are growing longer and the livestock are starting to shake off the dull brown trappings of winter. To this end the ducks are seeking out water to bathe and clean off the mud. This green bucket was for drinking... But this duck could not wait till I filled up their splash pool for the season. Needless to say I got the pool open shortly after this picture was taken.

The small treasures in life, there are so many on them if you care to look for them. Michelle found a few of them as we dug out from over three feet of snow. You would be amazed at how happy you can get when you see dirt and grass again! We had to dig for a good long time before we were greeted by it's wonderful sight. Now only four more hours to reach the buck's barn!! Recently I was was struck low by the worst case of the flu I have ever known. I went down for the count and was not getting up. But there is a small problem here, we have a farm and regardless, the livestock has to taken care of no matter what. Because you love me, you went out in the cold and dark and tended to our animals. Because you love me you spent hours on end for days morning and night tending the farm. Because you love me, you tended my needs, to make me as comfortable as you could. I saw the love and concern in your eyes. Because you love me, this was not the first time you have done this for me. You have given me a gift I neither deserve nor can fully repay. All I can do is give you my heartfelt thanks for all that you do this day and always.
As I write this I am reminded once again of a far greater love. I am referring to John 3:16. God in Jesus, took human form lived a perfect life then allow himself to be beaten and then crucified. On the third day ROSE again so all who believe in HIM will be saved. Remember those nails did not keep him on that cross... it was his LOVE for you and me. The perfect love that can never be duplicated. |
