On days we are home and can let out the ducks and chickens they will go out and forage in the morning. As the day heats up they retire to the shade to stay cool as best as they can during the day. About two hours before sunset, most days, the heat breaks and the air cools. Out come the chickens and ducks again to forage for food. Also the goats appear from the barn and run and jump in the pasture. This time of day it is very peaceful as the work of the day is done and we get ready for the coming nightfall. It reminds me of what is told in the Bible , that in the cool of the day before the fall God would walk with Adam and would fellowship with him. In a small way we take a moment to pause and fellowship with the Lord about our day and the wonder of his creation.
