As Michelle was milking the goats tonight, I in turn took each of the adult goats for a walk. They walk like a dog and enjoy getting out of their fenced pasture. Further, I like to see what plants they care to eat so we may introduce them into their area. Also this is “free” food so we try to fill them up with this before giving them hay we have to pay money for in the evenings. They are just so deer-like taking a bite here and there. They will not graze like cattle or sheep and are much easier on the land because of it.
The kids have collars but have not been on a leash yet. I took them around the pasture to see how they would do with the leash. To say they were not happy was a gross understatement! They dug their hooves in and pulled back and said no I am not going anywhere with you. So plan b pick them up and carry them into the pasture this just changed the location but not their attitude. We will need to work on this some more!
