This evening was a big deal for Storm, for the first time since he was born he left the confines of the barn and pasture. He went for a walk with me. I had to pull him out the door since he was leaving all he had known up to that time. But as his young eyes saw all the was out there he walked freely. As we walked you could see him just drinking in the sights and sounds of the world he only knew from behind a fence. He was like a small child taking their first steps. As we wandered further away from the barn, Storm kept looking around and you could see the wonder in his face. These were places he had never seen before, slowly he became more at ease and as we walked past the barn toward the pond he relaxed and started to sample the greenery. This was very moving to see, it reminded me of how the Lord gently pulls us away from the things we know and into full knowledge of His grace and the awe and wonder we feel. Something like my Dad must have felt as he came face to face with his Lord and Savior for the first time.
